Civic engagement and good government in America started with Indian Country and we have much to offer the nation. American democracy is stronger and public policy is more innovative and effective when federal, state, and local policymakers understand the priorities of Native people. An increasing number of candidates for national, state and local office - from all political parties - are advancing tribal platforms, visiting tribal areas, and listening to the concerns of Native voters. In the interest of tribal concerns, Native Vote encourages Indian Country leaders to run for national, state, and local offices. If you are a Native candidate for a federal office and you would like to be featured on NativeVote.org, please send your campaign information to tsmalley@ncai.org.
