Use Turbo Vote to Register and Vote by Mail!
This year, we are piloting a powerful online tool called TurboVote to make registration and and absentee voting as easy as possible. This is an especially powerful tool for voters with limited access to the polls or those living away from home. In most Native Vote focus states anyone can request a mail-in ballot, for any reason (called no-excuse absentee voting)- and every state allows commuters, college students, and others with valid excuses to vote absentee.
If your tribe is interested in reaching out to citizens with this tool (via email or through computers at a central location) download this sample announcement to share with eligible voters in your community. This service is provided by the Native Vote campaign at no cost to your tribe. Voters need only enter their information one time through the website and they will receive all materials (registration forms, absentee ballot application, and absentee ballot) via mail, and optional reminders via email or text.
Use and add the TurboVote Facebook Application!
Key TurboVote Deadlines:
The last dates we'll accept requests for mailed forms for the November 6 elections are:
At midnight on each of those days, we'll begin displaying a warning that says "The deadline to (register/request a ballot) is (day) -- and we can't get your forms to you in time. Please print and mail your forms TODAY!" for all voters so no one misses the deadline.
(PLEASE NOTE: Your state's voter Registration Deadline is later than these dates- these deadlines are only for using TurboVote)
