This month's webinar focused on Native Vote's exciting national partnership with Rock the Vote. During the webinar, Native Vote and Rock the Vote leadership and staff discussed all of the exciting ways you can get involved in helping to turn out the largest Native Vote in history.

 

Here are some of the items the webinar covered: 

  • The new Native Vote supplement to Rock the Vote's "Democracy Day" Class- The class is a one-class-period program that uses video, a classroom discussion and a mock election to teach young people the skills to navigate the elections process and engage as active citizens. Download the supplement now!
  • Rock the Native Vote Youth Week- September 24-28th, 2012. If your organization, school, Boys and Girls Club, youth council, or community would like to participate, sign up here
  • Native Vote promotional materials- The National campaign will soon provide the option to order tee shirts, buttons, stickers, posters, and more in bulk! In the meantime, you can visit NativeVote.Org to order individual items to start raising awareness about the Native Vote! 

 

Jacqueline Johnson Pata, Executive Director of National Congress of American Indians discussed the importance of the Native Vote and its youth first time voters. 

 

Heather Smith, President of Rock the Vote and Jaynie Parish, Field Organizer for Rock the Vote (Southwest), discussed the tools and resources available to educators, tribal leaders, youth coordinators, and mentors to encourage youth civic engagement.
